Granada boss Jose Gonzalez claims that Barcelona are "the most deserving league winners" following Saturday's clash between the two teams in Andalusia.

Granada boss Jose Gonzalez has paid tribute to Barcelona after the Catalan outfit secured the La Liga title with a 3-0 victory in Andalusia on Saturday afternoon.

Despite being disappointed with the defeat, Gonzalez has conceded that his side could not compete with Barcelona, who ultimately won the title by one point from second-placed Real Madrid.

"The season ends for us on a bittersweet note as we close the season with a defeat after having achieved safety. Barcelona showed their power in the first half, they didn't let us move or counter," Gonzalez told reporters.

"In the second half we were more daring and changed our system, but we were unable to make it count on the scoreboard. Barca showed what they're capable of and were superior at all times in the game. We lost a lot of possession to them.

"Barcelona are the most deserving league winners and have proved to be the best team in the world."

Granada secured survival on the penultimate weekend of the season with a 4-1 win at Sevilla.
