Granada have announced the appointment of former Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez as the club's new manager.

The 46-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the La Liga outfit, becoming the first manager appointed by the club's new Chinese owners.

Jemez suffered relegation from the Spanish top flight with Rayo last season, but did lead the Madrid outfit to an eighth-place finish in 2012-13.

Granada's new owner Jiang Lizhang has already made a number of changes since taking over earlier this month, including replacing sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero with Javier Torralbo.

Jemez, who will be officially unveiled on Wednesday, replaces Jose Gonzalez as manager after he steered them to a 16th-place finish last season.
