Gael Monfils has advanced into the semi-finals of the US Open after recording a 6-4 6-3 6-3 victory over fellow Frenchman Lucas Pouille on Tuesday afternoon.
Monfils, who has reached the last-four stage of the US Open for the first time in his career, has still not dropped a set in this year's competition.
It was a routine first set for the 30-year-old, who held all five of his service games, which allowed a break at 3-3 to become the deciding game in the opener.
Monfils then secured two breaks in the second set to claim a 6-3 success and move into a comfortable lead, before winning the third and what proved to be final set 6-3 after a break at 1-2.
The Frenchman will take on either Novak Djokovic or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-finals.
