Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: 'No specific plan to stop Paul Pogba'

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says that he does not have a specific plan to stop Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this weekend.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has claimed that he has not created a specific plan to neutralise Paul Pogba's threat in this Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder joined Juventus on a free transfer from United in 2012 during Conte's three-year spell in charge, but he returned to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Red Devils spent a world-record £89m fee to bring Pogba back to the North-West of England, and he has taken time to settle back into life at United.

On Thursday night, though, the 23-year-old showed his quality as he scored twice in a 4-1 victory over Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

Conte is well aware of Pogba's talent, but intends to halt the entire United team rather than individual players this weekend.

"We must pay attention to the whole Manchester United team," Conte told reporters in Friday's press conference. "There are a lot of great players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and I consider him a fantastic player. There are many, we must pay attention to all of them. We must find the right solution with and without the ball.

"Pogba came back to England because he was born here in a football aspect. I remember when [Juventus] took him from Manchester United, he was a fantastic and great player, at the maximum level. He deserves all [he gets].

"To come back to Manchester United was his dream, I wish for him the best but only after the game."

Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League table, two points above seventh-placed United.
