Barcelona agree to sign Andre Gomes

Barcelona confirm that they have reached an agreement with Valencia to sign midfielder Andre Gomes.

Barcelona have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Valencia to sign midfielder Andre Gomes.

The 22-year-old had been linked with a number of Europe's top clubs following his performances for Portugal on their way to Euro 2016 glory, with Juventus and Chelsea both understood to have had big-money bids rejected.

However, Barcelona have now confirmed that he will join the Spanish champions for next season, signing his contract and being officially presented as a Barca player next week.


The deal bringing Gomes to the Camp Nou is thought to be worth around €50m (£41.7m).
