Police launch an investigation after a sex tape allegedly starring Nathaniel Clyne leaks online.

Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne has reportedly contacted police after a sex tape was leaked online.

The 25-year-old was reportedly left "horrified" after learning that footage of him having sex had begun to circulate on social media.

In the video - shot in 2014 when he was still at Southampton - Clyne is allegedly seen having sex with a woman in his apartment while a male friend watches on.

"It's been difficult for Nathaniel," a source told The Sun. "He was horrified anyone would set out to stitch him up like this. He felt it was a deliberate effort to ruin his good name and reputation.

"His agents felt he had to go to the police when it became apparent he was being smeared. He's a young man, devoted to his football career, on playing for Liverpool and England."

Merseyside Police confirmed to the newspaper that they have launched an investigation following the complaint.

Clyne moved to the Reds in a £12.5m deal last summer, making 33 league appearances in his debut campaign.
