Inter Milan are reportedly increasingly confident of keeping Lautaro Martinez at San Siro, despite interest from Barcelona.

Inter Milan are reportedly hopeful of extending the contract of forward Lautaro Martinez.

Since the turn of the year, Barcelona have been heavily linked with the Argentina international, who has a £97m release clause in his contract.

However, at a time when that exit route for Martinez expires on Tuesday, Barcelona do not possess the funds to push through a deal.

According to Tuttosport, Inter view the situation as an opportunity to agree fresh terms with the 22-year-old, including raising his release clause.

The report claims that the Serie A outfit are prepared to offer Martinez a pay rise, providing that he commits his future to the club until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Martinez has scored 17 goals from 33 appearances in Italy's top flight and the Champions League this season.
