Arsenal agree deal to sign young Japanese forward Takuma Asano

Takuma Asano is to join Arsenal from J-League outfit Sanfrecce Hiroshima, subject to the completion of a medical and regulatory processes.

Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle to sign Japanese forward Takuma Asano from Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

The 21-year-old will officially join the Gunners once completing a medical and regulatory processes.

Asano has been capped five times by the Japan national side and is likely to be a part of the squad for next month's Olympic Games in Rio.

Speaking to the club's official website, boss Arsene Wenger said: "Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future. He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years."

Voted J-League Rookie of the Year in 2015, Takuma joined Hiroshima three years ago and went on to score a total of 11 goals in 56 appearances.
