British and Irish Lions boss Warren Gatland praises his side for their 35-0 win over the Melbourne Rebels on Tuesday.

British and Irish Lions boss Warren Gatland has revealed his delight with his side's 35-0 win over the Melbourne Rebels on Tuesday.

Gatland, whose team overcame Australia in the first Test last weekend, also praised the strength of the Lions' set pieces.

"We made a few mistakes and pushed a few passes but we didn't want to stop them from going out and playing rugby," Gatland told Sky Sports News.

"Our set piece was good, we defended really strongly and we were in good condition physically. The players made up for the disappointment of last week. We talked about keeping the tempo up. Once we got in front we wanted to keep playing, and they had a licence to do that.

"We wanted some quick taps, to keep the ball in play. You've got to enjoy those moments, particularly the last 20 minutes where we tried to keep the ball on the park."

The second Test against Australia takes place this Saturday.
