Dancing On Ice is hit by fresh chaos as Jason Donovan is forced to quit through injury.

Jason Donovan has become the latest celebrity to drop out of Dancing On Ice due to injury.

The singer was granted a free pass from the last live show as he recovered from a back problem but is still struggling and has had no choice but to withdraw from the competition.

The show has now seen five of its original 12 celebrities quit the series due to injury or coronavirus - and ITV only had two celebrities waiting in reserve, both of whom have already been voted out by the public.

Last week ITV decided to pause the series for a week to give producers a chance to regroup, but with just six celebrities remaining and five weeks still to go, the show's future is now seriously in question.

A statement on Dancing On Ice's Twitter account said: "Sadly @JDonOfficial has had to withdraw from this year's #DancingOnIce due to an ongoing back injury. Our thanks go to Jason and his partner
@AlexandraLukasz for being so wonderful and committed to the series. We're sorry to see them leave and we wish Jason a speedy recovery."

Recent rumours have suggested that Emmerdale's Joe-Warren Plant, who quit after testing positive for COVID-19, may be brought back this weekend but ITV has yet to officially confirm or deny the story.
