Salford Red Devils pick up just a second win in 11 league outings by seeing off Catalans Dragons 18-14 at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Salford Red Devils have defeated Catalans Dragons 18-14 at the AJ Bell Stadium to potentially turn their faltering Super League fortunes around.

It took just two minutes for the hosts to fall behind, as Remy Casty pounced over the line to open up his side's tally.

Things got even worse soon after when Louis Anderson danced his way over to extend Catalans' advantage further, but some impressive work by Niall Evalds to dart past the opposition defence saw Salford right back in it.

Michael Dobson made the most of a Dragons mistake 10 metres from their own line to cut the deficit even further, scoring in the left corner to reignite hope around the stadium.

Salford were penalised for stripping the ball with three minutes to run until half time, which cost them dearly as Scott Dureau made no mistake with his kick.

Neither side could cross over for a large part of the second half as Catalans closed in on victory, but that all changed in the 75th minute when Dobson made the most of Mason Caton-Brown's charge to add a crucial third try.

Josh Griffin found the sticks with his follow-up attempt to secure a rare victory for the Red Devils, who remain down in 11th place following their second win in 11 outings.
