British heavyweight David Price says that he expects to feature on the undercard of Tony Bellew's clash with Ilunga Makabu for the WBC cruiserweight title.

British heavyweight David Price has said that he is ready to make his return to the ring after his failed European title bid last year.

Price was emphatically stopped inside two rounds by Erkan Teper but the German representative failed a drugs test after the clash in Stuttgart and the result was changed to a no contest.

However, nine months on from that setback, Price has revealed that he is scheduled to make an appearance on the undercard of the WBC cruiserweight title clash between Tony Bellew and Ilunga Makabu at Goodison Park on May 29.

The Liverpudlian told Sky Sports News: "I'm going to be fighting on the Tony Bellew undercard in Liverpool. We are still waiting for confirmation but it's 99%.

"I've been spending time in the gym getting going with my training, so it'll be good to be back under lights. There was no major rush but I am ready to get back in now."

Price will be hoping that a couple of wins can get him back into the mix at a time when British rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua hold three of the four world title belts.
