Result: Kei Nishikori through to semi-finals at Barcelona Open

Kei Nishikori is through to the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open with a straight-sets win over Alexandr Dolgopolov.

Kei Nishikori has defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov in straight sets to reach the Barcelona Open semi-finals.

The second seed went into the contest having beaten his Ukrainian opponent in each of their four previous meetings and he endured little problem in extending that record on Friday.

One break of serve was enough for Nishikori to take the opening set before he raced away with the second to complete a 7-5 6-0 triumph.

The 26-year-old will now play Benoit Paire after the Frenchman overturned a one-set deficit to beat Malek Jaziri by a 3-6 7-5 6-1 scoreline.
