Ernie Els has recorded the worst first-hole score at the Masters after seven-putting to make a 10 at Augusta.
The 46-year-old South African, whose best finish at the major was runner-up in 2000 and 2004, had a disaster on the opening hole by carding a sextuple-bogey 10.
The four-time major champion hit the fairway with a 288-yard drive and after his second shot fell just short of the green, he sent his third three feet away from the hole.
Els required a simple putt for par, but he struggled and after a frustrating seven attempts, the two-time Open winner finally found the hole.
