Liverpool striker Divock Origi says that his side's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund is a "huge boost" heading into the second leg of their quarter-final.

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has described his side's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund this evening as a "huge boost" heading into next week's second leg at Anfield.

Origi was chosen ahead of Daniel Sturridge for Jurgen Klopp's return to the Westfalenstadion, and responded by scoring an away goal to give his side the lead against the tournament favourites.

Mats Hummels levelled things up for the hosts early in the second half, but it is still advantage Liverpool at the halfway stage of the tie.

"Today was a big game. At a big club you have responsibilities. Everybody tried to help me so I am happy to score," Origi told BT Sport.

"It is a huge boost for us to produce a performance like this. It is promising for the next game."

Liverpool have progressed from 11 of the last 12 European ties in which they have drawn the first leg away from home.
