West Bromwich Albion reportedly launch a £4.5m bid for Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly made a £4.5m bid for Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Villa following their relegation to the Championship, although it is believed that there has been a lack of Premier League interest thus far.

According to The Sun, West Brom are the first top-flight club to launch a bid for the Republic of Ireland international and are prepared to meet Villa's valuation of the centre-back.

Clark, who represented his country at Euro 2016, came through the youth system at Villa Park and has made 159 first-team appearances for the Lions.
