Result: Northern Ireland Under-21s prop up group following France defeat

Moussa Dembele and Jean-Kevin Augustin find the net as France dump more misery on Northern Ireland Under-21s.

Northern Ireland Under-21s have finished bottom of their U21 Euro 2017 qualifying group after losing 3-0 at home to France in the final match of the campaign.

The Irish, who managed just one shot on target all evening, found themselves two goals down at the break thanks to a double from Paris Saint-Germain prospect Jean-Kevin Augustin.

France continued to dominate play in the second period but had to wait until the 89th minute to add to their lead, in-form Celtic striker Moussa Dembele applying some gloss to the scoreline at the death.

The result sees France finish in second place in Group 3, one point behind winners Macedonia, but their goal difference was not enough to secure a playoff place.
