Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi suffers what appears to be a serious knee injury on international duty with France Under-21s.

Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi has suffered what appears to be a serious knee injury on international duty.

The 21-year-old was playing for the France Under-21s in their U21 Euro 2017 qualifier against Northern Ireland Under-21s on Thursday night.

Midway through the second half in Guingamp, the left-back went down in clear pain while clutching his knee, and had to be taken off the pitch.


France won the game 1-0.
