Cardiff City confirm that they have accepted a bid from Hull City for captain David Marshall.

Cardiff City have confirmed that they have accepted a bid from Hull City for captain David Marshall.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper will become caretaker Tigers manager Mike Phelan's first major signing of the window as he attempts to add to a threadbare Premier League squad.

Cardiff manager Paul Trollope confirmed on Saturday afternoon: "There has been a bid accepted from Hull for David Marshall and he's agreed personal terms, so that's imminent."

In a statement on Twitter, the Welsh side said: "Cardiff City FC can confirm that a bid for David Marshall from Hull City has been accepted. David has been given permission to discuss personal terms with Hull City. There will be no further Club comment at this time."

Marshall, who is believed to be moving in a £5m deal, has featured 264 times for Cardiff in the last seven years.
