Welsh midfielder Emyr Huws moves from Wigan Athletic to Championship rivals Cardiff City on a three-year deal.

Cardiff City have completed the signing of Welsh midfielder Emyr Huws from fellow Championship side Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Wales international joined the Latics from Manchester City in 2014 but only made 16 appearances in a Wigan shirt and spent last season on loan at Huddersfield Town while his parent side were down in League One.

Huws has signed a three-year deal with the Bluebirds and is expected to be available for tomorrow's meeting with Queens Park Rangers at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"I'm chuffed to be back in South Wales and really happy to join a big club like Cardiff," Huws told the Cardiff website.

"I know most of the coaching staff from Wales, and can't wait to join up with the boys now and get started."

Huws is the fifth new face to join the capital outfit this summer following the arrivals of Lex Immers, Frederic Gounongbe, Kenneth Zohore and Jazz Richards.
