Belgium manager Roberto Martinez hails the "very special" World Cup 2018 draw, which placed his side in the same group as England.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has admitted that he is excited about the prospect of facing off against England in next summer's World Cup finals.

The Red Devils are top seeds in Group G, which also contains Panama, Tunisia and the Three Lions.

Martinez knows English football well, having spent more than two decades in the country as a player and manager, most recently taking charge of Everton between 2013 and 2016.

Belgium are scheduled to take on England in Kaliningrad in June 28 in both sides' final group-stage match, which Martinez is already prepared for.

"I lived for 21 years in England so it is very special," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "It's the World Cup, we have a challenging draw, lots of travelling.

"We are looking forward to it. We have a really good group of players, 25 players are now in the British game so are very well known. They have important roles in important teams and they enjoy playing for their country."

Belgium begin their finals campaign with a match against bottom seeds Panama in Sochi, before taking on Tunisia five days later in Moscow.
