Barcelona boss Luis Enrique says that his team "deserved" to win La Liga this season due to their "consistency" throughout the season.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has insisted that his team "deserved" to win the La Liga title this season.

Saturday's 3-0 win over Granada made it back-to-back La Liga crowns for the Catalan giants and 24 championships in total.

Barcelona faced criticism for exiting the Champions League at the quarter-final stage, but Enrique has laughed off suggestions that his team have had "a bad season".

"If you win the league, you can't say it's been a bad season because it's the trophy for consistency. It shows that you've been at a very high level all season. If you think you've had a bad season then forget it," Enrique told reporters.

"This league needs to be appreciated and enjoyed as it deserves. It was a very tough campaign and it took a lot out of us. I ask the fans to celebrate in style, including on the street, but in moderation. We deserved this league, more so because we managed to overcome the most delicate moments of a season."

Barcelona will take on Europa League finalists Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final next weekend.
