David Ginola is said to be 'unconscious but stable' following a suspected heart attack.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder David Ginola has suffered a suspected heart attack following a golf tournament in France.

The 49-year-old was taken to a cardiology unit in Monaco on Thursday afternoon, where he is said to be awaiting further tests.

According to The Mirror, Ginola is 'unconscious but stable' after collapsing in Mandelieu on the south coast of his French homeland.

It has been claimed by widespread reports that Ginola was initially airlifted to a local hospital before being transferred to Monaco, having fallen ill at a golf event.

Ginola, who has recently spent time working with BT Sport as a pundit, also turned out for Aston Villa and Everton during a seven-year Premier League career.
