Arsenal reportedly identify RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko as a potential target for the January transfer window.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Gunners are drawing up plans for the January transfer window and a new striker appears to be one of their priorities.

Mikel Arteta can currently call upon academy product Eddie Nketiah and Brazil international Gabriel Jesus as his two senior centre-forwards.

Nketiah has scored five goals in 13 Premier League appearances this season, with three of those strikes taking place in a dominant 5-0 win over Sheffield United in October.

Meanwhile, Jesus has managed to net five goals in 13 competitive games, including four goals in as many Champions League appearances.

Although Nketiah and Jesus have both made valuable contributions this season, the Gunners are said to be keen to bring in further reinforcements.

According to FootballTransfers, the North London club are showing an interest in Leipzig's 20-year-old striker, Sesko.

The Slovenia international is experiencing his first season with Leipzig after joining from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in the summer.

Sesko has been unable to nail down a consistent starting place due to the impressive form of his fellow summer signing Lois Openda, who has scored 13 goals in 20 games this term.

That said, Sesko has still demonstrated his eye for goal with the chances he has been given, having scored six times across 17 competitive appearances.

Although Sesko is not a regular starter in Marco Rose's side, it is currently unclear whether the German club would entertain offers.

If they were to consider a sale, Leipzig would likely demand a significant fee with the player under contract until June 2028.

In addition to Sesko, Arsenal are also considering Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and Santos youngster Marcos Leonardo as part of their search for a new striker.
