Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Arsenal could temporarily go 10 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table when they host Newcastle United at the Emirates on Tuesday.

The Gunners ended a memorable 2022 with a 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on New Year's Eve, when Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard all found the back of the net.

Arsenal entered the New Year seven points better off than reigning champions Man City, who are not in action until their clash with Chelsea on Thursday, but Newcastle could leapfrog Pep Guardiola's men into second place with victory in North London.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Magpies, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Leeds United on New Year's Eve.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel Jesus remains on the long road to recovery after being forced to undergo surgery on the knee injury he sustained at the 2022 World Cup, and the striker is unlikely to be back in action until March at the earliest.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Newcastle)

Emile Smith Rowe is edging ever closer to a comeback from his groin surgery, but the clash with Brighton came too soon for him. The England international has taken part in a few training sessions, though, and there is a slim chance that he could be available on Tuesday.

Reiss Nelson
