David Moyes is disappointed with West Ham's 4-1 loss at Liverpool, despite admitting that his charges were going to struggle against a rampant Reds side at Anfield.

David Moyes has admitted that West Ham United were going to be tested by Liverpool but bemoaned being on the receiving end of a 4-1 defeat at Anfield.

Emre Can, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino put the Reds in a commanding three-goal lead just before the hour on Merseyside.

Although Michail Antonio pulled a goal back on 59 minutes, Sadio Mane restored Liverpool's three-goal lead midway in the latter stages of the second half to condemn the Hammers to a heavy defeat.

"Liverpool played very well but we had moments as well," Moyes told BBC Sport after the final whistle. "We were unfortunate not to go ahead but they are a threat.

"We were never going to get loads of chances here, we knew that, and the quality of the players they have caused us big problems.

"It's been really tight all season, as tight as I can remember it. We didn't put this one down for three points but we hoped to take something from the game. Liverpool were tough."

The result keeps West Ham 13th in the table, three points above the bottom three.
