Craig Cathcart signs a new four-year contract at Watford ahead of the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Watford have announced that Craig Cathcart has signed a new four-year contract at the club.

The 28-year-old, who has been with the Hornets since 2014 when he joined from Blackpool, will now be tied down to the club until 2021.

Over the last three years, Cathcart has made 84 appearances, but only featured 15 times in the Premier League last season due to problems with a hernia injury.

So far this summer, Watford have signed just one player and that was the permanent acquisition of Tom Cleverley, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the club from Everton.

Marco Silva replaced Walter Mazzarri as head coach at the end of May.
