A report claims that Watford could move for unsettled Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.

Watford are reportedly keeping a close eye on Nathaniel Chalobah's situation at Chelsea as the Hornets consider a move for the midfielder ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 22-year-old, who helped England Under-21s reach the semi-finals of the Under-21 European Championships this summer, only has one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.

It has been claimed that the midfielder is considering his future with the Blues after becoming frustrated with a lack of movement over a new contract, with the two parties said to still be some way apart.

According to Sky Sports News, Watford are aware of developments at Chelsea, and head coach Marco Silva will push for a move if the player decides to seek pastures new in this summer's transfer window.

Chalobah, who only started one Premier League game last season, spent the 2012-13 campaign on loan at Watford - scoring five times in 38 Championship appearances.
