Wales captain Ashley Williams is disappointed to lose 2-1 at the hands of England in Thursday's Euro 2016 clash, but insists that his side will regroup.

Wales captain Ashley Williams has expressed his disappointment after falling to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of England at Euro 2016, but insists that his side will regroup and do their best to qualify from Group B.

A Gareth Bale free kick gave the Dragons a first-half lead in Lens on Thursday afternoon, but goals by Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge - the latter in second-half injury time - left Chris Coleman's side empty-handed.

Williams told reporters after the game: "It is tough for everybody, but we have another game on Monday and it is a quick turnaround so we won't get down about it. It hurts obviously, we were close to getting a point but we didn't - but we will get over it.

"You haven't done enough until the final whistle blows. We've seen late goals in this tournament, it wasn't that we switched off, it was just one of those things.

"It will be fine. A few of us have spoken, the manager has spoken, we will regroup and get over it. At the end of the day we have three points from two games and we will focus on the next game and getting out of the group."

Wales wrap up the group stage with a fixture against Russia on Monday night.
