Reports suggest that Leonid Slutsky is standing down as Russia boss following their defeat to Wales.

Russia boss Leonid Slutsky is leaving his post following the team's 3-0 defeat to Wales at Euro 2016, reports suggest.

During his post-match press conference, Slutsky appeared to shoulder responsibility for his side's display and disastrous campaign in France.

Furthermore, multiple reports indicate the former CSKA Moscow coach admitted that he "should be replaced".

"I'd like to apologise to the fans. We were poor today and we deserved to lose the game. We were bad in every area," football journalist Paul Saffer quotes him as saying.

"You need someone else after a tournament like this."

Russia finished bottom of Group B with just one point on the board following their defeat to Wales, with the Dragons topping the group and England claiming the runners-up spot.
