Result: Mixed fortunes for Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund at Nottingham Open

British number four Dan Evans reaches the third round of the Nottingham Open but Kyle Edmund is out after losing to Alexandr Dolgopolov.

Dan Evans has overturned a one-set deficit to record an impressive win over Ricardis Berankis in the second round of the Nottingham Open.

Since the start of the grass-court season, Evans has struggled for wins but he found a way to see off 16th seed Berankis after dropping the opening set after having his serve broken twice by the Lithuanian.

After taking the second on a tie-break, Evans stormed through the decider to come through by a 2-6 7-6 6-2 scoreline.

However, there was disappointment for Kyle Edmund who went down 6-4 7-6 to fourth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov.

The British number three failed to create a break point as he was comfortably defeated by the world number 32.
