Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's injury and suspension news latest ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

A fourth Premier League win on the trot is the goal for Tottenham Hotspur when they head south to tackle Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex on Thursday evening.

Ange Postecoglou's side survived a few scares to secure a 2-1 victory over Everton last time out, as Richarlison and Son Heung-min ensured that Andre Gomes's late strike would prove to be nothing more than a consolation.

Consequently, the Lilywhites spent Christmas Day above Manchester City in fourth place in the Premier League table, just four points adrift of leaders Arsenal approaching the halfway mark.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up their latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Brighton, who settled for a 1-1 draw away to historic rivals Crystal Palace last time out.

Richarlison

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: December 28 (vs. Brighton)

After finding the back of the net against his former employers, Richarlison was substituted in the 63rd minute of the beating of Everton with a sore back, but he is expected to be given the green light to play at the Amex.

Cristian Romero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: February 3 (vs. Everton)

Cristian Romero was only able to complete one half of Tottenham's win over Everton before succumbing to a hamstring issue, and the Argentine defender will now be missing for the next four to five weeks.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: January 31 (vs. Brentford)

Rodrigo Bentancur had only just made a full recovery from his devastating ACL injury before sustaining a hamstring issue against Aston Villa last month, and the Uruguayan midfielder is expected to return at the end of January in the best case scenario.

Micky van de Ven

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Micky van de Ven went down in agony with a hamstring injury in November's 4-1 loss to Chelsea, and the Dutchman is targeting a return at some point in January, although Postecoglou recently admitted that he was still some way away from being able to help the team.

James Maddison

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Likewise, James Maddison was a second casualty of that heavy defeat to Chelsea with an ankle concern, and it will still be another few weeks before the playmaker is seen in Premier League action again.

Ivan Perisic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ivan Perisic suffered a cruel ACL injury in non-contact training back in September, and the Croatian midfielder is facing a race against time to return before the campaign draws to a close.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Ryan Sessegnon is yet to make his first appearance of the season owing to a severe hamstring injury, and Postecoglou cannot say when the former Fulham starlet will be back in the reckoning.

Manor Solomon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Manor Solomon represents another left-sided midfielder on Spurs' injury list as he recuperates from his own knee operation, and there is still no timeframe on the winger's return to first-team action.

Alfie Whiteman

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Fringe goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman is on the long road to recovery from a horrendous ankle injury, in which he suffered a fracture and torn ligaments, and it is not clear when he will be available for selection again.

Yves Bissouma

Status: Out
Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Manchester United)

Destiny Udogie is back from a one-game suspension this weekend, but Yves Bissouma - who is due to represent Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations next month - will serve the second of a four-match ban owing to his sending off against Nottingham Forest on December 15.
