Barcelona forward Luis Suarez's impressive record vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole looks at Luis Suarez's fine record in El Clasico, having already scored five times against Real Madrid this season ahead of Barcelona's visit on Saturday.

Real Madrid and Barcelona meet for the third Clasico in the space of a month - and the second in just three days - at the Bernabeu on Saturday.

Barca ran out 3-0 winners at the same ground on Wednesday night to confirm their place in the final of the Copa del Rey for a sixth consecutive season, while the reverse league fixture ended in a 5-1 triumph for the Spanish champions.

Luis Suarez was the star of the show on both occasions and will look to do the damage again this weekend as Barcelona aim to take a big step towards another league title.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the Uruguayan's past record in the Clasico.

Saturday will be Suarez's 15th meeting with Madrid across all competitions, and in the previous 14 he has directly contributed to 16 goals - scoring 11 himself and assisting five more.

Remarkably, five of those goals have come this season alone, with the former Liverpool striker scoring a hat-trick at Camp Nou in October before his brace at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

Suarez has a particularly good record in La Liga Clasicos too, with that hat-trick in the reverse fixture taking him up to nine goals in as many league meetings with Barca's fiercest rivals.

The 32-year-old was on the scoresheet home and away in last season's league clashes, meaning that he has now scored five goals in his last three La Liga games against Madrid.

Lionel Messi and Cesar are the only Barcelona players to have ever scored more Clasico goals than Suarez, and should he help himself to another hat-trick this weekend then he would equal the tally of Cesar, as well as Madrid legends Ferenc Puskas and Francisco Gento.
