Prolific reality TV format creators John De Mol and Stephen Lambert are to work together on UK and US versions of Million Dollar Island.
The show - created by Big Brother architect De Mol - follows 100 people who are dropped on a remote island, where they must live for two months. Each contestant has a bracelet worth $10,000 - and over the course of the show, contestants win more bracelets through challenges or by receiving them from people who leave the show.
Although the show has yet to have a UK or US broadcaster attached, De Mol has agreed a deal which will see Lambert's Studio Lambert - maker of The Circle and Gogglebox - produce both editions.
"Million Dollar Island is a fascinating game of alliances, close friendships, secret pacts and other social strategies," said De Mol.
"We believe audiences in many territories will be compelled by the stories the format generates and we know Stephen and his colleagues will do a brilliant job of making the show for both the American and British audiences."
The Dutch version of the show has just finished filming in The Philippines and will air later this spring.
