Cristiano Ronaldo fails to attend the obligatory post-match press conference following Portugal's win against Russia, as speculation over his future continues to mount.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has once again opted against answering questions at the obligatory post-match press conference after inspiring Portugal to a 1-0 victory over Russia.

The 32-year-old, whose future remains in doubt after reportedly growing frustrated at the Bernabeu, did not make himself available for media duties following the Confederations Cup win in Moscow.

It comes three days on from Ronaldo doing likewise in the aftermath of Portugal's 2-2 draw with Mexico, despite being made man of the match and therefore obliged to speak to reporters.

Ronaldo, the matchwinner in Wednesday's group-stage encounter, instead gave a swift response to FIFA.com, saying: "Obviously we are very happy, it is the first time that Portugal wins in Russia. I think the team played very well.

"We played against an opponent playing at home with a home crowd, a team which pressured us, but we were better. We had more opportunities and we were just winners. We have four points and we have to congratulate our team."

Portugal are on the brink of progressing through to the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup, requiring victory over outsiders New Zealand on Saturday to make certain.
