British duo Heather Watson and Cameron Norrie both record upset wins in the WTA and ATP events which are taking place in Eastbourne.

Heather Watson has reached the third round of the Eastbourne Invitational with a straight-sets win over Dominika Cibulkova.

The British number three had needed three hours to progress through to the last 32, but she was superb in overcoming the former world number four by a 7-5 6-4 scoreline.

Watson squandered three match points during the second set but she recovered to take the fourth, which came on Cibulkova's serve, to register what is the second biggest victory of her career in terms of ranking.

In the men's event, Cameron Norrie backed up the decision to hand him a wildcard for the event by claiming his first-ever triumph at an ATP tournament.

Norrie is ranked 187 places below opponent Horacio Zeballos, but he managed to come through by a 6-4 7-6 scoreline.

However, compatriots Kyle Edmund and Naomi Broady both bowed out of the tournament at the first hurdle.
