Manchester United are reportedly ready to hand a new long-term contract to midfielder Jesse Lingard.

Manchester United have reportedly decided to give Jesse Lingard a new four-year contract.

The midfielder came through the youth ranks at United and has recently established himself as a regular in the first-team squad under both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old will be given a fresh deal which will take him until the summer of 2020 after impressing Mourinho since his arrival in the summer.

Lingard has scored eight goals in 50 appearances for United, with one of his strikes coming in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace in May.

He also made his first appearances for England last month after being selected by interim boss Gareth Southgate.
