Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has admitted that his team were second best to Manchester City in the second half of Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
Lionel Messi sent the Spanish giants into a 21st-minute lead in Manchester, but it was 1-1 at the interval courtesy of a close-range finish from Ilkay Gundogan six minutes before the interval.
Man City then scored twice in the second half through Kevin de Bruyne and Gundogan to secure all the points in a 3-1 victory and Busquets has claimed that missing opportunities to score a second in the first period cost his team.
"We knew it would be tough. During the first half we missed chances and they were great in the second. That's the Champions League," Busquets told reporters.
Barcelona, who now face a tough trip to Sevilla in La Liga at the weekend, remain top of Group C on nine points, two points ahead of second-place Man City with two games left.
