Roma striker Edin Dzeko reportedly had his house burgled while he was representing his club on Wednesday night.

The former Manchester City forward hit a brace as Roma recorded a 3-1 win over Sassuolo in Serie A and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, robbers took advantage of his absence to enter his property.

The report claims that Dzeko's wife and children were both inside when the break-in took place, and €500 were taken, in addition to a couple of designer handbags belonging to the 30-year-old's wife.

It is understood that local police, who were alerted shortly after the burglars gained entry, are still investigating the matter.

Dzeko joined Roma on a permanent deal from Man City in the summer after spending last season on loan at the Italian club.
