Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag names his squad for Thursday evening's Europa League contest with Sheriff Tiraspol.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has named his squad for Thursday evening's Europa League contest with Moldovan outfit Sheriff Tiraspol.

Anthony Martial has only played once this season due to a mixture of hamstring and Achilles problems, and the France international will again be unavailable for selection against Sheriff.

Donny van de Beek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Martin Dubravka have also not made the trip to Moldova, with Van de Beek and Wan Bissaka missing training on Wednesday morning.

Marcus Rashford was also not present at Carrington on Wednesday, and the England international is a notable absentee from the squad for this match.

There have been claims that the attacker is currently struggling with a minor injury, and Ten Hag is likely to provide an update on the 24-year-old when he speaks to the media on Wednesday evening.

Luke Shaw is back in the squad, with the Englishman recovering from the foot problem that has kept him on the sidelines for two of the team's last three matches.

The 27-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since their 4-0 defeat at Brentford on August 13, with Tyrell Malacia replacing him as the first-choice left-back in recent weeks.

Dubravka's absence has opened the door for academy goalkeeper Radek Vitek to make the trip alongside senior stoppers David de Gea and Tom Heaton.

Marc Jurado had been training with the first team ahead of this match, but the 18-year-old has missed out on a spot in the travelling squad for the European affair.

There is a spot for Charlie McNeill, though, with the 18-year-old included after making his first-team debut in last week's 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho have also been named in the squad, but there is still plenty of experience, and Ten Hag could name a stronger side than he originally planned, as this weekend's Premier League match against Leeds United has been postponed.

The clash with Crystal Palace was also called off last Sunday as a mark of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

As a result, Man United have not played since their 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the competition last week, and they are not back in action in the league until the Manchester derby with Manchester City on October 2.

Rashford's absence could see Cristiano Ronaldo start through the middle once again, but there could be recalls for the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Man United squad vs. Sheriff Tiraspol: De Gea, Heaton, Vitek; Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, Malacia, Varane, Dalot, Shaw; Fernandes, Eriksen, Fred, Casemiro, McTominay, Iqbal; Ronaldo, Antony, Sancho, Elanga, Garnacho, McNeill
