Jurgen Klopp admits that Liverpool's defence needs some work after the Reds beat Leicester City 2-1 to win the Premier League Asia Trophy on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool's defence needs to improve after they beat Leicester City 2-1 to win the Premier League Asia Trophy.

The Reds had to come from behind to win in Hong Kong on Saturday as Islam Slimani headed home for the Foxes in the 12th minute to open the scoring.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho, however, saw Liverpool overturn their deficit and secure the victory.

While Klopp was pleased with the result, he acknowledged that he and his players need to work on the defensive side of their game.

"Two games, two wins so that's of course the best thing," Klopp told Sky Sports News after the game. "You can see it was difficult again and it was not 100% of our physical ability.

"Players like Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, they cause you problems so we're a little bit too late in the mind because the legs are tired.

"I thought we could have defended the first goal seven times already, but in the end it is a cross and a free header so it's not nice but it's what happens. We came back and even before the good goal, we were already the dominant side and playing good football so it was all okay.

"I liked everything I saw but [defensive work] is something we need to fix 100%. I know it is pre-season and we can change it but it is something I don't like already so we need to work on it."

Up next for Liverpool is a friendly against Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion on July 29.
