Manchester United will reportedly scout Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker against Antwerp in the Belgian top flight on Friday.

Manchester United will reportedly scout Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker on Friday night as the Red Devils consider a move for the Belgian international in this summer's transfer window.

United are in the market for a new central midfielder ahead of the 2017-18 campaign, and it is understood that a deal for Nemanja Matic is currently stalling due to Chelsea's valuation of the Serbian.

According to De Morgen, Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is an admirer of 22-year-old midfielder Dendoncker, who scored against the 20-time English champions in the Europa League last season.

The report adds that United will scout Dendoncker when Anderlecht open their league season against Antwerp on Friday night, while AC Milan and RB Leipzig will also have representatives at the match to watch the powerful midfielder.

The two-time Belgian international scored six times in 56 appearances for Anderlecht last term.
