Mario Balotelli describes joining Liverpool as the "worst mistake" of his life.

Mario Balotelli has criticised Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp after describing his decision to join Liverpool as the "worst mistake" of his life.

The Italian striker signed for Nice last month after a failed two-year spell at Anfield.

After joining the Merseyside outfit from AC Milan for £16m in 2014, Balotelli scored just four goals, one of which was in the Premier League, in 28 appearances.

Rodgers was the man in charge when Balotelli signed for Liverpool, but he was not a favourite of the Northern Irishman as he was sent back to Milan on loan for the 2015-16 campaign.

Klopp, who replaced Rodgers in October last year, made it clear to the striker in pre-season that he did not figure in his plans.

When asked about his time at Liverpool by Canal +, Balotelli said: "It was the worst mistake of my life. Apart from the fans, who were fantastic with me, I must be honest, and the players, who I had a good rapport with, I didn't like the club.

"I had two coaches, Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp. As people they didn't make a good impression on me. I didn't get along with them."

Balotelli scored twice on his debut for Nice in Sunday's 3-2 win over Marseille in Ligue 1.
