Leicester City reportedly open talks with manager Claudio Ranieri over a new long-term contract.

Leicester City have reopened talks with manager Claudio Ranieri over a new and improved contract.

The Italian guided the Foxes to a historic Premier League title last season and will be rewarded for his efforts with a pay rise from £1.5m to £3m a year, according to the Daily Mail.

Ranieri's agent Steve Kutner is believed to have held "productive" talks with director of football Jon Rudkin during Leicester's tour of the US last month as the champions look to tie down Ranieri for the long term.

A clause in Ranieri's existing three-year contract means that he could be poached by a rival club for a relatively small sum, and Leicester are keen to revise the figure as part of the new deal.

Ranieri has previously admitted that he is relaxed and "happy" with his contractual situation.
