Manny Pacquiao's manager announces that the former eight-division champion will come out of retirement to face Jessie Vargas on November 5.

Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring later this year to face American WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas.

The 37-year-old retired from boxing in April after beating Timothy Bradley on a unanimous decision - his first fight in nearly a year since taking on Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao instead focused his attention on a career in politics and was elected to the Philippines' senate in May, but now intends to put on his gloves once more.

"Retirement doesn't suit Manny right now," Pacquiao's manager Michael Koncz told the Los Angeles Times. "Boxing is in his blood. When he trains, it's like a pressure-release valve.

"You can see a dramatic difference in his mood... he's happy. It's amazing what training and fighting does for him."

The fight with Vargas, who has won 10 of his bouts via a knockout or stoppage, will take place on November 5.
