Brazil's anti-bomb squad are called into action to deal with a suspect package near the finish line of the men's Olympics road race.

A controlled explosion has been carried out by Brazil's anti-bomb squad near the finish line of the men's Olympic road race in Rio de Janeiro.

A suspect package was dealt with by security forces around two-and-a-half hours before the race - one of the first events to be held at the 2016 Games - was due to finish.

Riders were still around 70km away when the successful explosion was carried out at Flamengo Park, and there have been no reports of any injuries.

Great Britain medal hopeful Chris Froome is among the favourites to win the race.
