Great Britain's Dan Wallace joins Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte in earning a place in the final of the men's 200m individual medley.

Great Britain's Dan Wallace has produced one of the best swims of his career to reach the men's 200m individual medley final.

Wallace, along with teammate Ieuan Lloyd, were drawn alongside American stars Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte in the second semi-final but they gave a good account of themselves in lanes seven and eight.

Lloyd narrowly missed out on a place in the final after finishing in sixth position but Wallace ended the race strongly to take fourth place behind Phelps, Lochte and Brazil's Thiago Pereira.

Wallace is looking for his second medal of the Games after playing his part in Team GB's silver-winning performance in the 4x200m freestyle final.
