Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira challenges his side to prove why they are one of the best teams in Europe in response to their defeat to AC Milan.

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has urged his side to prove why they are one of the best teams in Europe following their 1-0 defeat to AC Milan on Saturday.

The Old Lady saw a six-match winning streak in all competitions come to an end at San Siro courtesy of Manuel Locatelli's second-half strike for Milan.

The defending champions are now just two points clear of Milan and second-placed Roma, and Khedira is keen to return to winning ways against Sampdoria on Wednesday night.

"We're not happy about losing but we're only in October," he told the club's official website.

"The good thing is that we have the chance to get a better result just four days later.

"When we're on our game we're one of the best sides in Europe. We have to show that on the pitch."

Juve will also host fourth-placed Napoli on Saturday.
