How Chelsea could line up against BATE Borisov

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for Thursday's Europa League clash against BATE Borisov at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be hoping to make it three wins from three in their Europa League campaign when they play host to Belarusian champions BATE Borisov at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have already picked up 1-0 wins over PAOK and Videoton in their opening two Group L matches and are now on the brink of booking a place in the last 32.

Maurizio Sarri has named stronger-than-expected starting lineups in his first two European outings, and that will likely remain the case for the visit of BATE.

Ahead of Thursday evening's clash in West London, Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up.

Possible CHE XI vs. BAT

Out: Ethan Ampadu (knee), Callum Hudson-Odoi (knock)
Doubtful: Eden Hazard (back)

Sarri had to bring on Hazard from the bench during the clash with Vidi three weeks ago, but the Belgian is unlikely to be included in the squad for this third Group L match as he picked up a back injury at the weekend.

Pedro is expected to replace Hazard in a like-for-like change, with Willian - the matchwinner against PAOK - possibly retaining his place on the opposite flank.

Olivier Giroud netted twice against BATE for Arsenal last season and is expected to come into the side on Thursday, potentially meaning a breather for Alvaro Morata.

Sarri could well go with an identical XI to the one fielded against Vidi earlier this month, as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Cesc Fabregas are desperate for playing time, although there is a decision to be made over whether to go with Matteo Kovacic or Ross Barkley in the midfield three.
