Preview: Bromley vs. Notts County - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's National League clash between Bromley and Notts County, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

On Saturday, Bromley will welcome Notts County to Hayes Lane with the home side looking to claim a fifth consecutive victory in all competitions.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches across league and cup matches.

Match preview

Bromley enter the midweek contest in fourth place, but three consecutive league victories leaves the Ravens a point adrift of league leaders Stockport County.

Saturday's fixture offers the hosts a chance to end an already successful week with maximum points after beating Grimsby Town 2-1 last weekend before edging out Woking in midweek.

On Tuesday, the Ravens claimed their sixth home clean sheet of the season as they clinched a narrow 1-0 win at home to Woking, which came courtesy of a Jude Arthurs strike.

The win represented Bromley's ninth home league victory of the season and as a result, they now hold the best home record in the National League after collecting 29 points from their 13 league matches at Hayes Lane.

Having won their previous two home meetings against Notts County, Andy Woodman will be quietly confident of guiding his side to another home victory on Saturday.

Notts County sit in eighth place, but are still only six points adrift of the league leaders with a game in hand.

If the Magpies have automatic promotion ambitions, they need to continue their recent run of promising form after avoiding defeat in their last six league matches.

Without a game for 10 days, Ian Burchnall's side returned to action on Tuesday to play out a goalless away draw with Wealdstone.

Although that result ended a fine run that saw Notts County score in eight consecutive games in all competitions, they did manage to keep their first clean sheet since a 2-0 win over Solihull Moors in the middle of November.

Only Stockport and Wrexham have picked up more points in their last six games than the Magpies, which will fill the visitors with confidence as they bid to claim a positive result against a Bromley side who are formidable on home turf.

Team News

Luke Dreher joined Bromley on loan from Crystal Palace on Wednesday, and the 23-year-old is expected to be included in Saturday's squad, although he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Billy Bingham signed a signed new deal with the Ravens in midweek and he will be aiming to celebrate his fresh contract with a win.

Having scored in Bromley's previous two fixtures, Arthurs will be aiming to offer a goal threat from midfield once again on Saturday.

As for Notts County, they will line up in their usual 3-5-2 formation, with their frontline likely to be formed by Ruben Rodrigues and Kyle Wootton.

In defence, Burchnall is expected to continue with a backline of Richard Brindley, Kyle Cameron and Alex Lacey.

Frank Vincent was replaced at half time on Tuesday, and he could drop to the bench for Saturday's contest with Zak Brunt set to take his place.

Bromley possible starting lineup:
Cousins; Webster, Bush, Sowunmi; Coulson, Arthurs, Bingham, Forster; Alexander, Whitely, Cheek

Notts County possible starting lineup:
Slocombe; Brindley, Cameron, Lacey; Richardson, Palmer, Roberts, Brunt, Chicksen; Rodrigues, Wootton

SM words green background

We say: Bromley 1-1 Notts County

With both sides proving hard to beat in recent weeks, we expect Saturday's contest to be a hard-fought affair, and we think that it may prove an impossible task to separate the two sides with the contest ending level.
